License selection for other versions of SIESTA

Starting in the Spring of 2016, with the 4.0 version, SIESTA is released under the terms of the GPL open-source license. Source packages and access to the development versions can be obtained from the new development and distribution platform.

Other versions of SIESTA are distributed free of charge to academics (please see the detailed conditions in the licence text), and can be installed by computer centers to be used only by academics. These are not an open source versions: they cannot be redistributed.

Currently, the list of these non-GPL versions includes:

• The 3.2 version.
• The 2.0 version.
• A very old (1.3f1) version compatible with the Smeagol program.

If you are interested in any of these versions of SIESTA, please click on the appropriate licence link to proceed. You will have the opportunity to indicate at the bottom of the page whether you accept or decline its terms.
